Short trips make it more noticeable because the system never fully warms up.
It is not normal when the drip smells sweet, feels oily, leaves a coloured stain on the ground, or continues after the truck is fully warmed up. 4.2 Rinse the system. Close the drain, fill the radiator with clean water and run the engine with the heater set to high. Shut it off, wait for it to cool, and drain again. Repeat until the water comes out mostly clear. Two rinse cycles are enough for most trucks; a badly neglected system can take more. If the old coolant was rusty or dark, check the water pump and hoses before you add new coolant.
4.3 Refill with the right mixture. Use the coolant specification from the owner's manual, not whatever is on sale. Modern Ford coolant comes in different colours for different years, and mixing incompatible coolants can turn a flush job into a radiator replacement. Use premixed 50/50 coolant, or mix concentrate with distilled water in a clean bucket. Fill the radiator slowly to reduce trapped air, fill the reservoir to its cold mark, and run the engine with the heater on high until the fan cycles.
4.4 Confirm after a heat cycle. Let the truck sit overnight. Check the level cold the next morning and top it off if needed. Air pockets work their way out over the first heat cycle, so re-check after your first real drive. Also look under the truck: a drip from the drain area usually means the petcock is not fully closed or the lower hose clamp needs another half turn.

- Spray penetrating oil on the old exhaust clamps and hardware the night before. That single step turns a five-hour job into a three-hour job—or rather, a four-and-a-half-hour job. Older hardware rarely cooperates quietly.

Then comes the moment everyone forgets: when you park, water will probably drip from the tailpipe or the lowest point of the new MagnaFlow. That is normal. It is the same condensation from Step 2, no matter how shiny the muffler is. Water vapour in the exhaust condenses on cold stainless steel just like it did on the old muffler. The drip usually stops after the exhaust gets hot, so do not assume coolant is pouring through the new system.

- Tightening exhaust clamps before alignment. Loosen everything and line up the tips first; otherwise the system will fight you all day.
- Trusting 'probably' ship dates. When the weekend is planned and the truck needs to be driven Monday, pay for certainty.
- Forgetting the 'race' choice. Race mufflers sound amazing at a stoplight and drone on a freeway. Make the choice with a long drive in mind.
