The temptation is to think expensive pads are better because they cost more. In my experience, it's often the reverse: companies that invest in consistency and testing can charge more because they are better. Price is a result, not a cause.

CBC—cornering brake control—uses individual brake pressure to keep the car stable when you brake in a corner. CBC with differential adds an active or electronic differential that can also distribute torque side to side. In other words, CBC is brake-based; CBC with differential has another method of controlling wheel torque. The difference between CBC and CBC with differential matters because the second system puts even more demand on brake consistency. If the pads are unpredictable, the control algorithm will not be able to do its job.

Why does this matter for your purchase decision? Because 'it has CBC' is not the same as 'it has CBC with differential.' When a seller throws both acronyms around, ask which one is actually on the build sheet. A brake pad that works with one system may not be the right choice for the other.

Duramax fuel filter delete: do the full math

Now for the search term that makes me pause: Duramax fuel filter delete. Delete kits exist for good reasons—the factory fuel filter housing can crack, leak, or be expensive to replace. I'm not against the concept. For a dedicated work truck or a race vehicle, a relocated filter with a proper water separator can be a reliable upgrade. But for a daily driver, you need to do the total-cost math before you remove the factory system.

The delete kit is only the beginning. Add the filters, the mounting bracket, the fittings, the hoses, the labor, and the risk of putting the filter somewhere it can get damaged. A kit that saves $150 on the housing can cost $400 more in supplies and reinstallation if the hoses don't line up. The factory housing is expensive, but it was engineered for the platform. You're replacing engineered packaging with shop-floor improvisation, and I say that as someone who respects shop-floor improvisation when it's done right.

Honestly, I'm not sure why some delete kits still ship with universal hoses. My best guess is it keeps part numbers low and the advertised price down, but it pushes the variable cost onto the installer. If you're buying a delete kit, buy the version with application-specific lines or budget for a hydraulic hose shop.

What I'd change if I could

If I could go back to 2022, I'd add a formal incoming inspection checklist sooner. We didn't have one for exhaust hardware, and it cost us when a batch of 300 flanges came with a counterbore that was 0.2 mm too deep. The vendor said it was within industry standard. It wasn't within our spec. We rejected the batch, and they redid it at their cost. Now every purchase order includes the critical dimensions before the PO is signed.
